Job profile

Working as a Buyer you will report to the Procurement Manager, ensuring all materials are purchased on time, to specification, and at the best price available. Negotiating with suppliers and building long term relationships. Liaising with sales and production staff for forecasting purposes.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Follow up non-delivered supplier purchase orders and back orders.
  • Chasing suppliers to ensure products are delivered on time
  • Processing purchase orders
  • Setting up and maintaining stock and supplier records
  • Negotiating prices
  • Stock control
  • Maintaining relationships with existing suppliers
  • Manage price change/information changes.
  • Setting up supplier accounts
  • Manage generic buying email mailboxes
  • Booking in deliveries

Skills required:-

  • Used to working in a fast-paced environment with ability to multitask
  • Good excel skills
  • Sage 200 experience
  • Excellent negotiation skills
  • Good communication skills
  • Good organisation skills and the ability to multitask
  • The ability to cope with the pressure of having to make important decisions and meet tight deadlines
  • The capability to work in a fast-paced environment and ability to multitask
  • Drive and determination
