Morson East Anglia are pleased to be recruiting for a Buyer for a Client based in Lowestoft.
This role will consist of, but will not be restricted to the following:
Reporting to the General Manager you will:
Provide high level of customer support to offshore vessels and onshore
team member on all Supply Chain matters.
Ensure goods returned to onshore are catalogued, including non-catalogued items.
Dispatch sea Manifestos.
Negotiate renewable contracts with key suppliers and open new accounts where applicable.
Support in the development of procurement & buying where applicable.
Stock Transfers to operated site, both storage and waste management.
Ensure and adhere to Quality Assurance standards which are maintained for all materials.
Ensure quality records and quarantine processes are up to date and managed documentation complies with and is available for internal and external
Ensure work is carried out in compliance with company internal control standards and procedures and all other control documents.
Maintain, track and return of all rental equipment.
Communicate with Site Managers /Engineering/ Vessel Crews and QHSE
Ensure safe storage and segregation of hazardous goods in accordance with
Ensure all hazardous goods are transported to and from the facilities in accordance with IATA regulations, IMDG Code and Clients procedures.
Perform regular physical inventory stock taking of Marine, Engine and
Maintain accurate records in the materials system, goods receipt, goods
Ensure any purchasing of new build vessel support and parts are carried out effectively and promptly.
Raise Purchase order numbers or Quotations and document.
Communicate with accounts departments and ensure payment runs are complete and authorised.
Ensure plant is inspected and repaired as required.
Liaise with the Site Managers and onshore teams to ensure any material
requirements are adequately pre-planned.
Manifesting materials onshore and manage engineering stores/plant/equipment
Take control of vessel stock and communicate with the Companys Technical Manager regarding vessel downtime/ refit procedures and parts to be supplied /purchased.
Act as vessel Deckhand when required by CTV Crewing department.
Act as Lead buyer in engineering management of vessel parts and co-ordinate with engineers and technical department with vessel refit.
Open job cards and ensure the Quality Management Manual is up to date at all times.
You will have experience of working within the Logistics, Buying, Warehouse and Transportation industries.
Be fully aware of hazardous materials in warehouses and maintain exemplary records (COSHH).
You will be a team player and have the ability to drive work colleagues alike ensuring full compliance at all times.
Have excellent administration, record keeping and communication skills both written and verbally.
Be able to produce records and reports for Management.
Hold a valid Forklift licence.
