Morson Intrnational is looking for Buyer for our client based in Barrow In Furness, Cumbria.

The candidate will be responsible for managing the procurement of indirect goods and services on behalf of their Customers. They will be accountable for providing a bespoke Customer Service to the Astute & Dreadnought class Submarine programmes

Duties will include:

  • Develop a culture of total performance by carrying out activities in line with the business and Indirect Procurement Services policies, processes and charters
  • Develop relationships with Customers, Stakeholders and Suppliers to ensure that our service offering is maintained/improved
  • Work with Customers/Stakeholders to identify optimum sourcing solutions
  • Ensure that Procurement strategies and commercial arrangements are robust
  • Manage the end to end lifecycle of the procurement process
  • Review/manage the performance of suppliers
  • Support our value proposition through the delivery of savings
  • Provide procurement advice and guidance to other functions
  • Take personal responsibility for implementing the standards outlined in the business's
  • Code of Conduct and comply with all company policies and processes
  • Understand the contents outlined in the company's Operational Framework and uphold their integrity at local level
  • Understand the company Lifecycle Management process and participate in the procurement elements of the LCM process when required
  • Fully comply with the Shared Services Health and Safety Policy and applicable Health and Safety procedures
  • Understand the Shared Services, Service Excellence ethos and practice the core values in the workplace
  • Understand the Indirect Procurement Service (IPS) value proposition and contribute to the delivery of the vision and values
  • Develop an in depth understanding of the IPS Business Management System (BMS) and carry out all activities in line with these processesSpecific duties:
  • Lead the vendor sourcing & selection process for projects identified
  • Manage forward sourcing activities for suppliers identified
  • Manage data integrity of SAP workflow

  • Manage individual savings ideas, keeping ideas register topical
  • Improve 2018 perception ratings through delivery of 2019 improvement plan
  • Uphold the integrity of IPS BMS and Supply Chaim QMS at local level
  • Ensure learning assignments are completed to schedule

Recognising the RESTRICTED nature of the work, suitable candidates will be SC cleared or eligible for this level of clearance.
