Buyer - Greater Manchester - 3 Months +

We are working with a client who are experiencing a period of fast growth and are looking for interim resources in there Field Procurement Team covering spend in the United Kingdom and Ireland. The buying category areas include direct procurement categories subcontract labour and third-party materials for large scale projects across varied client base. The role will be supporting their major business area's including Fire Suppression business, Land Based Security, Connected Buildings and HVAC, which are witnessing growth in the final quarters of the financial year.

The role is working with cross functional stakeholders, major business stakeholders including operations, sales, legal, finance and major projects team. Ideal interim role for a procurement professional looking for a fast paced, challenging environment where you can make a real difference, adding P&L through savings delivery and rolling out an existing procurement transformation programme.

The role offers access to a large global procurement function.

What you will do

* You will be required to work closely with the major business stakeholders, understanding project requirements and reviewing opportunities for cost savings. Supporting improving margins securing benefits to project cost books to provide value.
* Working closely with the global category management team, you will look to align field procurement activity to global procurement strategies
* Generating and maintaining a robust supply chain for labour and 3rd party materials for forthcoming project activity
* Establish relationships with the supply base, including reviewing existing contractual arrangements, holding contractual meetings and ongoing supplier performance management reviews
* End to end sourcing which ranges in value and complexity
* Negotiating favourable terms
* Stakeholder management: Engagement, obtaining sponsorship and influences senior level stakeholders
* Analysis of spend data, identification of opportunities for pipeline improvement.
* Supporting the development of strategic savings initiatives utilising the transformation tool.
