Business Development Manager with a defence background is required to be responsible for developing an understanding of the customer, customer engagement, identifying opportunities, competitor intelligence and supporting bids. This role will support the development of the client's Defence Digital opportunity pipeline and will be focussed on the identification and winning of Digital opportunities within the UK MOD.
In order to support this objective, the successful candidate must have a track record of success in developing pipelines, be expert in identifying opportunities, developing relationships, shaping customers and supporting the development of discriminating win strategies and developing and maintaining stakeholder engagement plans. They should also have significant relevant experience in the military C4I market.
The role involves but is not limited to the following:

Prepare and deliver clear and concise briefings
Develop the Defence Digital pieline
Engage with Defence Digital decision-makers and influencers and understand their interrelationships
Develop & maintain comprehensive understanding of Defence Digital acquisition, end user and acquisition planning communities
Stay abreast of Defence Digital bids and procurement status with the customer
Continuously undertake customer intelligence gathering and analysis/update Situational Assessment, identify customer care-abouts
Use competitive intelligence tools and techniques to learn and assess customer issues, hot buttons and key performance parameters and appraise competitor's potential solutions
Win Strategy Development
Support the development/refinement of win strategy, discriminators, and counters to competitor's discriminators
Support competitive assessment to help develop the win strategy, discriminators, and counters to competitor's discriminators
Work with Capture/Bid/Programme managers during the running of bids.
Demonstrate ability to gain and maintain stakeholder buy-in and support
Support capture/programme managers with the development of proposal strategy and plan
