A leading client in the Rail Industry is recruiting for a BIM Coordinator to work on a contract basis, based in Birmingham.
Reporting to the Head of BIM in the Engineering function. The role holder is responsible for ensuring data is delivered by the supply chain to the Project in accordance to the principals set out in the BIM Strategy and Information Requirements for future phases including the Main Works Civil Contract.

Responsible for the review, auditing and assurance of data delivered in accordance to the Project scope, BIM Strategy and Employers Information Requirements.
Central point of contact with regards to BIM for external design teams, Contractors and their supply chains for any queries relating to the Works Information and the delivery thereof.
Support the Head of BIM in capturing the Information Requirements for each Contract whilst considering Industry Best Practices and Standards as well as the BIM Strategy.
Build strong relationships with key stakeholders to ensure they are aware of aspirations regarding BIM and that the standards, procedures and protocols are set to ensure that data procured is of a high quality and meets the demands of the project.
Review procedures developed by Core BIM Team and highlight opportunities for further development and improvement.
Support the implementation of processes and specifications developed by the Core BIM Team.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, EXPERIENCE
Proven large civil engineering project track record;
Tertiary education in engineering/architecture to HND level a minimum;
Demonstrable working knowledge of Bentley ProjectWise and Bentley design applications but not limited to these;
Previous experience of working in an agnostic manner with regards to data formats and exchange processes;
Awareness of the requirements of current BIM strategies and codes of practice (UK Government 2016 strategy, BS1192:2007, PAS1192-2:2013, PAS1192-3:2014, etc.)
Strong 3D/4D Modelling skills in both Civil Engineering and the Built Environment;
Strong report and documentation skills;
Previous quality assurance experience throughout entire data lifecycle;
Understanding of CAD operational processes and the ability to analyse and articulate the impact of proposed changes on these within the context of BIM;
Previous track record of raising awareness of BIM and providing support throughout an organisation and its supply chain;
Experience in integrating data and processes, including GIS, Ground Investigation, Carbon Quantification, Health and Safety to allow high quality data and information to be created and re-used throughout the BIM Workflow would be seen as advantageous.
Very organised and able to multi-task to meet strict deadlines;
Strong interpersonal skills and a drive to meet stringent immovable deadlines;
Show initiative to think outside of the box;
Able to challenge the status quo in a constructive manner.
