Bid Manager preferably with an aerospace/defence background required to be responsible for the production of bids in response to Contract Change requests from the Authority and external opportunities up to a value of £10m. The Bid Manager will lead the development of the bid from receipt of the request through governance and final response to the Customer.

The role will involve but not be limited to the following:

Commercial obligations - (where applicable) must ensure that Change responses are delivered in accordance with the Change Process and associated contractual timescales. Where bids are external, ensure compliance with the response instructions.

Governance - ensure all bids have received the necessary approvals to be submitted.

Reporting - report against a set of agreed metrics, monitoring performance against both response time and financial targets. This should include accurate recording of time spent on bids by the business.

Continuous Improvement - deliver continuous improvement in the management of bids, governance and Customer engagement.

Planning - prepare appropriate bid plans to identify, secure and monitor resources in the business.

Resources - ensure bids are delivered to time and cost.

External Relations - Support the maintenance of excellent customer relations and satisfaction with the services delivered by the company. Engage directly with the Customer to ensure the Customer's Requirement is fully understood and relationships are effective.

Team Collaboration - Work closely with the Commercial, Finance and operation functions within the organisation to build bid teams and deliver quality responses to the Customer.

Qualifications, Experience Skills & Personal Qualities.

An experienced Bid Manager with proven track record and experience of bid and project management in a commercial environment.

Proven ability in delivering change alongside business results. An excellent communicator with the ability to build and maintain relationships across a diverse range of groups and the proven ability to influence and challenge at all levels.

Experience in a complex delivery project is essential, experience in the Defence environment is desirable.

Recognising the RESTRICTED nature of the work, suitable candidates will be SC cleared or eligible for this level of clearance.
