The Bid Manager will assemble a bid team with the relevant service / product / business knowledge required to prepare a winning bid, whilst taking ownership of the end-to-end bid process. Responsibilities include introduction and implementation of all necessary bid procedures, governance, and process. This is a highly networked role that requires an ability to work under pressure and to challenging deadlines. It will require strong people management and commercial skills.

In this role, you will be part of an industry-leading team contributing to and ultimately overseeing the proposals for some of the UK's largest infrastructure projects.

Job Description

Accountable to the Work Winning Director and the Opportunity Owner for the management of the tender process for the duration the tender period, including the efficient use of Work Winning and external resources, compliance with corporate governance, and the Costain Way.

Key Responsibilities

  • To prepare the bid programme and agree with Work Winning Director and Technical Lead
  • To ensure the bid has sufficient resource
  • To deliver the bid to the agreed programme and budget
  • Prepare monthly BMR reports
  • To ensure the Lead Author receives technical inputs on time
  • To complete all corporate governance gates and organise bid reviews (in conjunction with Work Winning Director)
  • To organise and deliver workshops to enable teams to deliver best practice
  • To manage completion of all technical gate reviews e.g. risk, design, planning etc. in conjunction with Technical Lead
  • To organise regular team meetings to review progress and resolve issues
  • To ensure E1 bid data is up to date
  • To organise bid location, IT services and general office support
  • Manage all client communication and circulate as agreed with Technical Lead
  • To present feedback from previous bids obtained from client and internal review
  • Upload Tenders to client portals
  • Attend Feedback meetings with Client where applicable
  • Ensure tender handover meetings take place
