Battery Build & Test Engineer
Location: Peterborough
Hourly Rate: £17.28 PAYE
Duration: 12 months (likely to extend)

We are seeking to continue to build our Advanced Powertrain Development team with a diverse, inclusive, and multi-disciplinary group. This role is responsible for the Build, Testing, Strip and Evaluation of Electrical Power System units. This team will apply deep technical knowledge to data analysis, review and sign off and converting data into decisions. This is a highly visible team that works directly with all areas of engineering and will, at times, report directly into our product groups.

Job Responsibilities and Duties:

As a Build and Test Engineer you will report directly to the Area Manager. You will be responsible for the Co-ordination and build of our Electrification Program Products including Testing and Sign off activities. You will work closely with our internal customers to ensure we are meeting our Product and Technical Objectives. You will also be required to lead and support activities with our external service suppliers where required.

• Conduct and/or direct Build activities of Electrical Powertrain Components.
• Conduct and/or direct Validation Test activities.
• Carry out Data analysis on results and present to Validation Team.
• As Part of Continuous Improvements, you will support/write Process and Safety procedures.
• Collaborate with Facilities Team to ensure any Facility Requirements are understood.

Skills and Experience:

Required qualifications and skills:
• Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in an accredited Engineering curriculum or HNC with at least 6 years demonstratable experience.
• Excellent interpersonal skills (coaching, communication, teamwork)
• Excellent problem solver
• Self-motivated and able to deliver with minimum supervision.
• Self-confidence and a passion for the product are personal qualities needed to succeed in this high-pressure environment.

Relevant Experience
• Experience in power system level performance
• Experienced in the use of testbed software, calibration tools, and test data logging systems.
• Hands on engine testing, Battery testing and problem-solving experience

Desirable experience/skills:
• Previous leadership experience (direct or in-direct)
• Project Management methods and processes
• Experience with Development through New Product Introduction (NPI) Process
