The Avionic Bay Technician is an experienced and skilled technician, undertaking a range of detailed maintenance activities in the Aircraft Avionic Bay, demonstrating the ability to follow diagnostic process and techniques.
At this level the post holder requires a good understanding of the construct of the approved Technical Information set and is competent to work to approved data, maintenance instructions and in accordance with the organisation's Maintenance Organisation Exposition (MOE). Demonstrates the ability to analyse and diagnose faults to equipment & assemblies follows diagnostic procedures and works effectively within a team and provides guidance to less experienced team members in a diverse and dynamic operational environment.
Undertake detailed maintenance, inspection activities on the Aircraft Avionic components. Assuring work carried out has been completed in accordance with the SOW/Work package using the relevant approved technical information. Resolving faults and maintenance issues, including an awareness of configuration management.
Ensure that maintenance is undertaken to schedule and resolve any issues, escalate as required.
Undertake and complete tasked maintenance & diagnostic activities on the Aircraft Battery components which may include, as appropriate, component removals, inspections, repairs, modifications, fault rectifications, replacements and/or functional/system test.
Demonstrates a flexible and proactive attitude to carrying out responsibilities appropriate to the role and takes direction appropriately.
Maintain personal task authorisation for working on an aircraft or components in accordance with AMC requirements.
Progress reporting against delivery targets to supervisor.
Undertake support tasks within the Avionic facility which are required to maintain compliance with the MOE and AMC procedures (e.g. oversight checks, control of tooling/test equipment etc.)
Undertake fault evaluation and raise ad hoc work cards for 'found faults' during maintenance.
Maintain personal Log Book to demonstrate currency and recency, over sign other people's Log Books as appropriate within your trade and skills boundaries.
Completion of an Engineering Apprenticeship, ideally in Aeronautical Engineering, or Military equivalent apprenticeship / qualifications. Academic qualification for this role is a minimum of City & Guilds 2675 or 2661 in Aeronautical Engineering and Maintenance or equivalent. Aircraft platform training (on a/c requirement).
Typically 2 + years' experience including type, classed as fully competent with all required Authorities in place.
Composite Flight Servicing- Pass.
Trade 'Q' Course- Pass.
