We are currently seeking additional Assistant Technicians for an Outage based at Dungeness B Power Station in Kent.
Your role will consist of, but will not be restricted to the following:
Report to the site Supervisor for all matters relating to quality and safety.
Work within your SQEP capability, carry out all work as instructed by the supervisor, in accordance with the requirements of the task documentation, (i.e Work Order Card, Maintenance Instruction, Risk Assessments etc.) with due care to minimise the potential for disturbance to site plant equipment.
Take reasonable care of the Health and Safety of yourself and those around you.
Ensure you are compliant with Safety documents as identified by the Site Supervisor or client.
You will ensure that you do not interfere with anything provided in the interests of Health and Safety (PPE, fire extinguishers etc.)
Ensure that you use Plant and Equipment correctly, in accordance with training and instruction provided and inform your Supervisor of any situations considered to represent a serious or imminent danger.
Report to your Supervisor any shortcomings in protection arrangements for Health and Safety.
Within your SQEP capability, carry out all work as instructed by the Site Supervisor to the requirements of the task documentation (i.e. Work Order Card Method Statements, Construction Plan Risk Assessments etc.), with due care to minimise the potential for inadvertent disturbance to Site plant or equipment.
Comply with, in addition to the above-mentioned documents, all other relevant safety instructions as identified through the Site Supervisor.
Report all anomalies, safety hazards, plant damage and specific problems to the Site Supervisor/Engineer before proceeding further.
Cooperate with the Client, ensuring that work is undertaken to Client instruction and Client specification, in the implementation of Client safe working methods, using Client pro forma.
Comply with the rules and regulations, safety requirements in force on the site and to promote these requirements within working parties.
Promote a positive health and safety culture.
Report all anomalies, safety hazards, plant damage and specific problems through the Supervisor/Engineer before proceeding further.
Report unmanaged hazards to the site Engineer-in-Charge.
Adopt at all times the S*T*A*R*T principle (Stop, Think, Act, Review, & Tell), whilst engaged on all types of works on site.
Attend weekly Toolbox Talks relating to matters of Safety.
Participate in the production and review of Point of Work Risk Assessments.
Participate in Pre Job Briefs.
Although there are no formal qualifications required, an appreciation for engineering tools and components is desirable.
Full training will be provided.
However, knowledge of Site installation and maintenance experience preferably in the Nuclear, Power Generation or Oil and Gas industries would be desirable.
Candidates will require a valid CCNSG Safety Passport and or IOSH (where applicable).
Full Nuclear CTC - Counter Terrorist Check will be required prior to commencing.
Hours: 10/12 per shift working 12on - 2off rotationally either Days or Nights.
