Assistant Project Manager (Platform Monitoring and Control) required to assist in the development and management of the Combat Systems equipment delivery team schedule, cost, risk and opportunity baselines, co-ordinate support team risk and opportunity identification, assessment and management and provide general programme management assistance and advice to the Support Control Account Managers.
The role involves but is not limited to the following:
Development and management of the integration schedules with the relevant technical lead and establish cost, risk and opportunity baseline.
Work with the IT&T and Make APMs to deliver the full scope of programme management for each team, including the forecast and impact assessment of change on the programme.
Provide general programme management assistance and advice to the CAM and other engineering managers in the team.
APM qualification is preferred but work experience to similar level would also be considered
Experience at APM level on similar large scale complex projects is preferred
Primavera 6 and EVM experience would be beneficial
Excellent IT skills particularly MS Excel and MS PowerPoint
Strong communication skills are key in this role, you will need to be able to influence and negotiate with key stakeholders.
You should be able to work to tight timescales and deal with change at short notice, so need to be adaptable and an agent for change.
An engineering (aerospace/defence) background is required, this is not an IT PM role.
