Assistant Project Manager to be responsible for all aspects of project management for construction projects, including the deployment of project control and project management techniques. Responsible for the management and performance of assigned projects, sub contracts, vendors and/ or accounts and will ensure plans are in place (e.g. Budgets, quality, performance and output plans). To monitor & report progress and feed information as part of the project recording and review process.
The successful candidate will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following:
Assurance of sub contracts, work packages and/ or small projects, ensure delivery of schedule, scope, risk management and quality of the sub contract.
Issue authorisations for work within the scope of own activity, ie. issue of permits to work, such that work can be undertaken and the contract or project delivered.
Involvement in the creation of Reporting Packs and delivery of Project reports up through the business chain.
Assure the compliance with all project management tools and techniques, e.g. Life cycle management, risk register, change control, etc.
Ensure SHE and Quality Governance and compliance including application of CDMC across all projects through guidance from SME's.
Assist with decision making for projects on resourcing strategy, sub contract and supply chain activity.
In the absence of the APM, delegated authority to lead in setting and agreeing direction with senior management on behalf of the Project.
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate experience in the following:
Experience of the construction industry is essential and further third level education in the build environment is advantageous
Understanding of project, its markets, customers, strategic priorities and culture
A good understanding of how team integrates with others teams in order to achieve objectives.
Project Management experience demonstrated in a professional role within a project.
Good understanding of one or more Project Management tools techniques and practices.
Knowledge of the Naval Base Services environment for project delivery.
Knowledge of Project Management governance and assurance processes such as Integrated Baseline Reviews (IBRs).
Experience of working with stakeholders inside the company.
Recognising the RESTRICTED nature of the work, suitable candidates will be SC cleared or eligible for this level of clearance
