Assistant Project Manager with aerospace/defence industry experience required to be responsible for the project management and successful delivery of project tasking that require leverage of Engineering Services resources to time, cost and quality.

The APM will be the primary point of contact for all Engineering Services activities on the project's tasks to ensure work is appropriately costed, approved, planned and prioritised.

The APM will also work closely with customer and other stakeholders to manage budgets, provide a clear picture of task and project progress and financial expenditure.

The role involves but is not limited to the following:

Develop and maintain a working knowledge of the Engineering aspects of the ship classes covered by the Design Management Services (DMS) Project and the relevant MoD Customer processes.

Co-ordinate with others to proactively resolve cross functional issues including the scheduling and resourcing and take appropriate action to ensure deadlines are achieved

Ensure outputs and deliverables are met and reported in accordance with targets and company policies

Manage Customer budget and monitor financial expenditure in order to achieve agreed targets

Establish and maintain positive customer / supplier relationships with all relevant functions to ensure effective team work

Report and present to the customer at technical and Programme and Finance Review meetings.

Chair Engineering Design reviews and progress meetings with key stakeholders.

Establish and maintain risk/opportunities register for tasks in sphere of responsibility

Maintain positive working relationships with all internal and external customers and stakeholders based on good partnering principles.

Minimum HNC/HND or equivalent in relevant Engineering or minimum HNC/HND or equivalent PM/Business discipline and experience working in an Engineering project environment is required.

Recognising the RESTRICTED nature of the work, suitable candidates will be SC cleared or eligible for this level of clearance.
