What is the purpose of this role?
To be a key member of our team in the delivery of a wide range of projects within the highways industry.

What will this role involve?
Supporting the team leader and other team members in undertaking a wide range of project delivery tasks including: Surveys, inspections, investigations, feasibility study, detailed design, report preparation and project implementation
Project planning, programming, cost control and administration
Preparation of designs, contract documentation, drawing production, technical documents and project reports in accordance with the project brief and DMRB
Liaison and helping maintain good working relationships with clients, customers and other stakeholders
Maintaining excellent working relationships with our client and delivery partners and demonstrating a collaborative, flexible, can-do approach
Assisting in preparing fee proposals and bids and understanding the importance of managing and monitoring cost and resource against progress
Helping to manage risk on projects with a focus on resolving blockages
Assisting with our practice of continuous improvement, leading lessons learnt exercises, canvassing feedback from clients and monitoring key performance indicators
Demonstrating H&S awareness and ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and company policy

What are we looking for?

You will have attained a relevant degree or other qualification of a similar status recognised as a suitable educational base for progression to Chartered or Incorporated Engineer status through ICE, CIHT, or equivalent body.

The applicant will have completed or be approaching completion of a period of post-graduate experience relevant to their degree and this role.

Ability to demonstrate capability or awareness in some or all of the following areas would be an advantage:
Experience working within a highway, public realm and project management environment
Knowledge of contract documents and undertaking design work in accordance with relevant standards including the DMRB
Understanding of the CDM regulations
Being a team player with a high level of oral and written communication skills
Ability to demonstrate a flexible and enthusiastic approach
High level of computer literacy including competency in the use of Microsoft Office and relevant drawing and design related software
Ability to build and maintain excellent working relationships
