Job Title: Commercial Opportunities - Assistant Business Development Manager

Role Purpose:

My clients business is entering an exciting period of growth and we need an individual who can support our ambitious growth plans by supporting us in a variety of different areas. You will be the kind of person who enjoys learning new skills and is willing to 'give it a go'. Your responsibilities will be diverse and we expect that some of these will be new to you. In recognition of this we will support you with an individually tailored development programme.

Duties & Responsibilities:

The role will entail the following responsibilities:

Market analysis and assessment - Leading on the analysis and assessment of market sector data in line with Client strategy, and making recommendations on future markets and customers

Stakeholder Engagement - Ownership of the Business Stakeholder Engagement plan, including interaction with a wide range of stakeholders, summary of key information and management of Customer Relationship Management processes

Opportunity identification and progression - Identification of potential business development opportunities using output from the Market Analysis, Stakeholder Engagement and Customer Relationship Development activities and contribute to progressing opportunities

Bid Support - Contribute to the process for bids, tenders, optioneering and sales negotiations where appropriate

Marketing - Representation of the business, and brand promotion, at national and industry wide events

Person Specification:

The ideal person for these roles will have:

  • Relevant post-graduation working experience
  • A degree (or equivalent) level qualification
  • Experience of writing high quality documents
  • A customer focused attitude
  • Excellent organisational skills and a demonstrated ability to work in a team
  • Enthusiasm and be self-motivated
  • An aptitude for business development

And will have experience in at least 1 of the following areas;

  • Bid preparation/tendering
  • Stakeholder engagement
  • Working in the Nuclear Industry
  • Data manipulation, analysis and interpretation
