Asset Manager - Based Northwich - Permanent Role - EXCITING OPPORTUNITY

Job Purpose:

Manage all Mechanical and CE Engineering activities associated with the Lostock Ammonia Soda Business Unit within budget costs and in compliance with TCE safety, health, environment and quality (SHEQ) standards.
Provide leadership and technical guidance to the Engineering department.
To optimise costs and increase value for money from the whole asset care cycle.
To manage outages and plant downturns to safely deliver the agreed scope on time and to a good quality,
To increase the reliability of the asset to enable it to deliver the production plan.
As a member of the senior site leadership team, foster close and effective engagement with Plant Managers and other functional heads to develop and implement effective engineering strategies.

Principal accountabilities:

Harmonise and lead a multi-discipline, multi-functional Engineering Team to maximise asset management effectiveness in close conjunction with Operations personnel. Manage the welfare, performance and career development of direct reports along with whole Maintenance Team including succession planning and nurturing future talent.

Establish and maintain CE and Mechanical governance across all Engineering functions to ensure compliance with legislative and company standards.

Develop a comprehensive Asset Management System to maximise Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) and help deliver planned manufacturing output ensure synergy and integration with other key business regulatory management systems. Adopt, implement and optimise MAP (Major Asset Programme) to assess asset criticality, drive maintenance routines and define future overhaul and replacement programmes. Establish and monitor a suite of Performance Metrics for all Mechanical Engineering activities routinely publish and demonstrate improvement.

Overall responsibility for Event Management (Shutdown and Downturn) to achieve faultless execution and minimise operational disruption.

Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation including LOLA, PUWER, PSR etc.

To ensure all maintenance and engineering activities are conducted in a safe and compliant manner.

Responsible for managing the Engineering team in line with all HR policies and procedures. Manage training, competence and succession planning within the Engineering Function.

Experienced in setting and managing high-value maintenance contracts with clear focus on delivering sound financial control and performance Project and Shutdown Management.

Desirable

Experience of applying World Class Maintenance Techniques (e.g. TPM, SMED,
RCM, FMEA)

Sound technical background, with many years' maintenance experience and proven track record of managing complex technical and personnel issues within a continuous manufacturing process environment
Proven track record of effective budget management
Strong leadership and people-development: direct approach, good with people, engenders trust and confidence, able to engage with the disenfranchised to turn around commitment and performance

Demonstrable safety leadership skills detailed knowledge of Safe Systems of Work (Risk Assessments, Method Statements) and experience of legal and statutory requirements (CDM, Asbestos regulations, PUWER. LOLA , PSR) Good engineering knowledge of various valves, pipes, flanges, gaskets, maintenance practices
