Armament Technician



£Competitive Salary

The Armaments Technician is an experienced and skilled technician undertaking a range of detailed maintenance activities on an aircraft or aircraft components.
At this level the post holder requires a good understanding of the construct of the approved Technical Information set and is competent to work to approved data, maintenance instructions and in accordance with the organisation's Maintenance Organisation Exposition (MOE). Demonstrates the ability to analyse and diagnose faults to equipment & assemblies and follows approved diagnostic procedures and works effectively within a team and provides guidance to less experienced team members in a diverse and dynamic operational environment.
Undertake and complete tasked maintenance & diagnostic activities on an aircraft or weapons systems/components which may include, as appropriate, Aircraft Ground Handling, Flight Servicing, Aircraft role changes, AD embodiments, component removals, inspections, repairs, modifications, fault rectifications, replacements and/or functional/system test.
Demonstrate a flexible and proactive attitude to carrying out responsibilities appropriate to the role and takes direction appropriately.
Maintain personal task authorisation for working on an aircraft or components in accordance with AMC requirements.
Ensure that maintenance is undertaken to schedule and resolve any issues, escalate as required.
It is BAES Air Sector Policy to ensure that the Organisation complies with Weapons, Ordnance, Munitions & Explosive (WOME) legal requirements and all appropriate licences and authorities are issued as required by Explosives Regulations 2014 and the Firearms Act 1968.
Ensure all Maintenance activities are appropriately documented and airworthiness records are maintained on relevant systems (IT/paper based). Compile required reporting, identify any issues and escalate as appropriate.
Maintain personal Log Book to demonstrate currency and recency, over sign other people's Log Books as appropriate within your trade and skills boundaries.
