POSITION: APPLICATIONS ADMINISTRATOR
REPORTS TO: DIRECTOR, BUSINESS APPLICATION & INTEGRATION
STATUS: CONTRACT TO HIRE (8+ months)
LOCATION: HOUSTON, TEXAS
The Applications Administrator is responsible for managing, administering and maintaining primarily Our client's?s internet accessed customer Electronic Data Exchange (EDE) built on Quorum Business Solutions? Quorum LNG (QLNG) product and other internal software solutions secondarily. Activities will also include coordinating with internal stakeholders/business owners, managing software upgrades/patching and testing of the software and their related interfaces.
Maintains contact with outside organizations in the maintenance, service and/or purchase of software and technical services.
Essential Functions & Duties/Responsibilities (Duties listed are not intended to be all inclusive nor to limit duties that might reasonably be assigned.
Manage and enable support structure for EDE and other related solutions to Business Owners:
Develop documentation and knowledgebase as a resource for the client's IT Desktop and Help Desk Support team to provide first line of support
Provide first support escalation point for issues the Our client's IT Desktop and Help Desk Support are unable to handle
Develop and manage documentation for support escalations and in depth technical questions to third parties/vendors
Assist in providing or facilitating 24/7 critical support for mission critical business applications monitor, manage and support Software Systems
Serve as Subject Matter Expert for applications/solutions assigned to Administrator.
Monitor and test software solutions, identify issues and coordinate with the rest of the team to implement resolutions
Perform administrative duties on the externally facing Electronic Data Exchange (EDE) system as well as other related solutions
Perform high-level root-cause analysis for any interruption to service. Document and facilitate the implementation of any preventive measures
Develop, maintain and use infrastructure tools to monitor and automate environments using tools such as SolarWinds Orion, Lansweeper.
Resolve technical issues through research and investigation to provide inputs to solution documentation and user guides
Act as subject matter expert and liaison with other areas within Our client's on business applications. Facilitate and participate in Functional Solution Testing and Test Documentation
Coordinate with software development team to ensure in-house developed solutions are designed for easier administration and maintenance
Identify and implement system efficiency and lower human intervention through custom scripting and other methodologies
Have a detailed understanding of database technology and participate in systems conceptual design and planning activities.
Work with vendors and 3rd party contractors when required to accomplish tasks
