AMS Systems Engineer - Communication & Navigation

Location: Ankara, Turkey

Duration: 2-4 years

Salary: Net package of £75,000 to £85,000 per annum

We currently have an exciting vacancy for a Mission Systems Engineer working with our clients highly experienced team in the cosmopolitan city of Ankara, Turkey to work on a new 5th Generation fast jet.

The successful candidate will be accountable to the Mission Systems Programme Engineering Manager and will be responsible for developing Communication and Navigation Systems within Avionics & Mission System (AMS) to Preliminary Design standard in conjunction with Turkish Aerospace colleagues.

Your main responsibilities as a Mission Systems Engineer, Communications & Navigation will involve:

  • Sub-System Requirement Definition: Working within Avionics and Mission Systems to prepare requirement set for Communication, Navigation (and Identification) Sub-System

  • Equipment Technical Specification(s): Preparation of Equipment Technical Specification for Communication and Navigation Equipment, in conjunction with Aselsan, the selected Turkish supplier

  • Sub-System Functional Definition, in support of the above

  • Sub-System Performance Analysis, in support of the above

  • Sub-System Hazard Analysis, in support of the above

  • Installation Requirement Definition: Working with Supplier and Design Installation teams to establish installation requirements for relevant equipment, including physical and electrical interfaces

  • Addressing Maintainability and Supportability considerations within installation design

Proven Ability / Key Skills

  • Communication Systems (Radio and Datalink) and Navigation Systems (INS, GPS, ILS) technology and equipment

  • Early Engineering Lifecycle phases

  • Complex system design integration on an air platform

  • Requirements management & system functional partitioning

  • Knowledge of the following Full Engineering Lifecycle phases: Integrated Mission Systems, Operational requirements analysis and decomposition, Identification of Critical Design Features, Management by maturity & Certification and accreditation

Please note, due to the sensitive nature of the project involved all candidates will be required to undertake a full UK MOD Security Clearance (SC level) before starting. If the applicant is already SC cleared this will be transferred to the clients UK headquarters for the full duration of the project.
