Air Systems Electrical/Avionics Design Liaison Engineer


Summary of Role:

The Air Systems Electrical / Avionics Designer Liaison Engineer is required to undertake a leading role within the Aircraft Systems Design Team , supporting multiple aircraft projects.They will work within both civil and military environments and the successful candidate will report to a Lead or Senior Electrical/Avionics Systems Engineer.

The work of the Aircraft Design Team includes providing technical solutions and developing modifications to customer owned aircraft, both military and civil. This can include the introduction of new aircraft avionic or mission systems, RF and antenna systems and electrical power generation/ distribution equipment/systems.

This role is ideally suited to a senior aircraft electrical/avionic designer with industry related experience.
In particular the role will demand experience in translating systems engineering requirements, enabling development of electrical wiring schemes and wiring diagrams.


Main Duties:

Working closely with the Lead and Senior Systems engineers, the primary role is to interface with the Electrical Design team, translating requirements from system level block diagrams into wiring diagrams and electrical installations.
Supporting the implementation of new and existing CAD tools in accordance with processes and procedures.
Report all electrical design issues to the systems engineering team, to enable fast solutions to be identified.
Development of modifications and design data to the aircraft by planning and administration of the Modification Design Processes.
Liaison with the Production Organisation to solve problems arising in installation.

Candidate Requirements:
Essential:
Proven and recent experience in the design, integration and certification of aircraft avionic and electronic systems in either a civil or military environment.
A good knowledge of a/c electrical systems.
A good knowledge and experience of relevant CAD tools that support electrical design development within the aerospace industry.
Experience of tool transition and change management activities.
Experience of Product Data Management systems relevant to the aerospace industry.
An awareness of the System Engineers role.
An engineer with current or recent experience in the design and development environment within the aerospace industry.
An awareness of the Systems Engineering life-cycle.
Experience of working within a multi-discipline engineering team within the aerospace industry.
An able communicator in verbal, written and presentational forms
A logical problem solver who can operate effectively under stretching project constraints.
Able to manage and work within agreed timescales.
Able to use initiative to improve team process and performance.
Self motivated and Team Player.
IT Literate.



Desirable:
Experience of customer facing environments.
Experience in the support of production organisations from within a design organisation.
Knowledge of civil and military modification and certification processes.
Experience in a position of authority (team leader/ deputy) within a design organisation.
Knowledge of EASA/ FAA certification requirements.
Knowledge of current military certification requirements.
