Agile Coach (SC Cleared)

Location: Crawley, East Sussex

Duration: 3 Months

Rate: £650 per day (Outside IR35)

Our client has just started its Agility transformation. Therefore, it's an exciting and enabling time to join the team. Our clients products range across Enterprise level applications, private cloud infrastructure, process automation and security solutions. Far more than just software development.

Although Agile implementation is a key part of the role, you will have an opportunity to your knowledge and experience of setting DevOps and Lean practices.

You will be in daily contact with the IS Director Team and interacting with key business teams and IS influencers on strategy.

If you are keen to showcase your abilities and extend your scope using Agile beyond the software house walls, then this could be the role for you.

Purpose of the role:

Undertake a complete and comprehensive assessment of the IS function and suitability / benefits to be gained by moving towards an Agile way of working.

Provide coaching to the Leadership Team as appropriate. Agree recommendations with the IT Leadership team and lead efforts to introduce the changes to a UK workforce of 280 people.

Apply your agile experience to develop the Agile vision for IS and to shape and mould the journey.

Work closely with Employee representatives, team leads and senior management to define goals and realistic timeframes

Coach and mentor others, become known across the IS organisation as a key support for those changing their way of working. Help the workforce to feel supported and encouraged and work closely with the business change team to address wider employee groups through communications and engagement.

The role will cover close working with teams across multiple locations including home working. The role is expected to be home based.

Key Responsibilities and Tasks:

  • Delivery of workshops and documentation and provide the following steps to implement the Agile culture and mind-set within the people organisation.
  • Propose an appropriate governance model for Agile based projects
  • Guidance on Squad setup based on the expected flow of work through the portfolio
  • Provide proposals of appropriate KPI/CSI measurement for squad and value delivery
  • Engagement with the Leadership team to establish Agile strategy and advise on adoption progress
  • Take forward the education of the Agile mind-set within the IS organisation
  • Establish appropriate methodology tools to support teams on their Agile journey
  • Define the process for transition of team structures to appropriate formats to enable Agile ways of working
  • Work with Quality, Audit and Security teams to ensure stability, performance and integrity of IS products and services
  • Mentor teams and individuals as needed

Skills and Experience:


  • Experience in delivering the implementation of Agile with Infrastructure, as well as Application teams
  • You will have a proven ability to work and influence at Director level, as well as being able to work confidently with engineering teams - you are comfortable to challenge and stand your ground
  • Has worked in multiple companies on Agile implementations - at least 3 years in an Agile Coach role


  • Experience in Engineering/Defence sector
  • IT technical background
  • Jira / Confluence experience
  • DevOps and Lean experience

You must be eligible to achieve SC Clearance as part of this role.
