2nd Line Infrastructure Engineer

Slowly but surely the world is going back normal… I suppose. Just because the world is on hold does not mean your career should be on hold too. IT projects are still ticking by and I am working with a client that is in one of the most stable industries at the moment. They have multiple exciting projects taking place right now that they need external resources for.

We are on the lookout for a 2nd Line Infrastructure who has a desire to become a 3rd Line Engineer within a growing team. This person is expected to progress into a 3rd Line Engineer after 12 months within the business. The manager has made it clear there is lots of room for development due to new accounts that they have brought on board and they always looking to train and develop internally before recruiting externally. This role has come about due to someone being promoted and provided with the chance to become a 3rd Line Infrastructure Engineer.

Key skills need to be successful:

  • 2nd Line Support experience
  • Windows Server experience
  • Active Directory experience

The technology stack you will be working with includes:

  • ITIL system management
  • Windows Server 2008 & 2012 platforms
  • Microsoft Group Policies
  • Active Directory
  • Supporting Citrix XenApp application access
  • VMware ESX and vCentre
  • NetApp
  • of Systems Centre Operations Manage 2007, 2010 or ideally 2012
  • Systems Centre Configuration Manager 2007, 2010 or ideally 2012

Responsibilities:

  • Executing assigned technical maintenance activities
  • Providing technical input into resolver groups
  • Providing technical input into service management reports
  • Highlighting potential service improvements to the tier lead
