The Construction Coordinator will be responsible for the coordination and interface management with Engineering, Procurement and Project Management to ensure key project milestones are met in accordance with timescale, budget and quality targets.
This will require an understanding of the key design deliverables required for the Construction Team to deliver their work (Engineering Orders/Work Packages)
The role will demand support to and liaison with the Construction Area Leads and Construction Operations team to ensure that the construction requirements are suitably addressed and delivered as required by the demands of the programme.
The role will also require liaison with fellow Discipline Construction Coordinators, Constructability Engineers and the Site Chief Engineers support services team, along with Engineering, Procurement, Project Controls/Planning, Quality and HSE functions within the overall Project.
The Construction Coordinator will be required to support and represent the JV Construction Management function at pre-construction Engineering and Procurement interface meetings including Constructability reviews. The role will also require liaison and attendance at meetings with the Clients Construction team and stakeholders.
Internal: Project Management, Engineering Design, Procurement, Quality Assurance, Health Safety and Environmental and Commissioning Teams.
External Clients Engineering and Construction representatives, Project Stakeholders, Specialist Vendors, Suppliers and Subcontractors.
Financial: Ensuring prudent use of allocated budget and resources.Support with business case justifications as and when required to the client.
Organisational: The position reports to the Delivery Manager.
Liaison with BEPDT departments for Design, Procurement, Project Management and support functions along with the Sellafield stakeholders on construction matters.
Coordination and interface management between engineering design and construction teams.
Coordination and interface management of construction delivery requirements between multiple discipline site operations.
Participation in HAZID/HAZOP/HAZCON reviews to support safe construction delivery as required.
Provide input for progress reporting at Construction discipline and Project level.
Ensuring compliance with quality assurance requirements, supporting provision of as built surveys and Life Time Records.
Contribution to budgetary and schedule delivery.
Investigation of non-conformances and fostering a learning organisational approach.
Review pros and cons of a work pack team in Washington House to pull the EOs from Engineering and strengthen interface with Construction team.
Coordination of the delivery of multi-discipline work packages including engineering design, procurement, construction and commissioning activities for Plant Areas or Systems through all phases of the project.
Qualifications and Comments
Educational Professional Qualifications Required Minimum 10 year experience of multi discipline construction operations.
Experience in the management and coordination of multi-discipline construction installation methodologies on significant EPC contracts.
Experience in the successful delivery of multi-discipline operations within a Nuclear licenced environment.
Experience of constructability and design interface processes.
Working knowledge and understanding of NEC contracts.
