Network Engineer, CCNP, Cisco Certified, Security Clearance, SC Clearance, Routers and Switches, Vulnerability Management, Network Troubleshooting Network Engineer required for our client for an initial 6-month contract. The role is both remote working and on site in Hatfield, Hertfordshire. You will be assigned to a specific project as well responsible on production environment BAU activities. Please note this role is Inside IR35. Also due to the secure nature of our client's project, the successful candidate must either hold valid SC Clearance or be willing to undergo prior to the commencement of the project. Network Engineer Skills/Experience include: Excellent Understanding of CISCO Network Tools CCNP Certified Cisco Routers and Switching 3rd line network support - Including Installation, configuration, deployment, maintenance and diagnostics of all network devices Configuration and Vulnerability management Config amendments, certification validation, troubleshooting issues Management and documentation of information relating to customer incidents, service requests, change and problem, and the effective communication of progress of such events to all stakeholders in line with internal process Have highly developed organisation, prioritisation, communication (written and verbal), tenacity and ownership skills. The role: You will have excellent working knowledge of Cyber Operations Centres and demonstrable experience of monitoring Security Incident Event Management (SIEM) systems and managing associated incident response processes. Generate reports on assessment findings and summarise to relevant teams Perform root cause analysis of vulnerabilities, and work with teams to remediate. Recommend improvements and changes to reduce technical and business risk, ensuring remediation activities are actioned. Contributes to creation of support documentation, and participate in knowledge sharing with other analysts and develop solutions efficiently. Maintain an understanding of current and emerging threats and vulnerabilities and security technology developments. Skills: Practical knowledge of the IBM QRadar platform and industry standard toolsets for vulnerability management, threat intelligence, and incident management. Familiarity with methods and techniques used in ethical security hacking/penetration testing and with the tools and techniques used by malicious hackers Data analysis experience and skills, particularly in big data platforms. Ability to work with other teams, and manages self and continually strives to improve. Programming skills C++, Python, C# or other language Knowledge and experience of Computer Forensics Experience of handling security related incidents and work requests Understanding of network monitoring and packet analysis tools, Internet protocols, networking principles and OS concepts and technologies.
The Role We are looking for a Network Monitoring Engineer to join the team based in Doncaster. In this role the candidate will be responsible for the installation, configuration, administration, and acceptance into overall service and operations of our secure network infrastructure. The role will be based at our UK Network Operations Centre in Doncaster and will require regular site visits for installations, fault investigation and remediation on customer sites across the UK. You will be required to hold or successfully apply for BPSS, SC, and NPPV3 security clearances. Key Responsibilities and Tasks: * Perform Event Management in monitoring a multiple service (WAN, LAN, Server and Firewall Infrastructure) * Perform Incident Management of the above services and infrastructure in line with agreed customer specific SLA's * Field Engineering installations, hardware fault finding and remediation * Manage internal and external customer expectations for all incidents * Manage operational critical success factors, service metrics and KPI's performing routine auditing and reporting for customer specific contracts * Integrate and escalate incidents with internal 3rd line support at an agreed stage of the incident management process * Understand service baselines within the asset and configuration management platform for all monitored customer services * Perform routine access management tasks for renewing, resetting and managing user accounts and passwords in line with the agreed processes. * Work with internal stakeholders in ensuring that all problem records are transitioned from incident management at the appropriate stage * Ensure that any service requests are forwarded in line with agreed SLA's to the appropriate stakeholders for action. * Work with third party suppliers understanding their obligation and any associated SLA's on customer specific contracts * Perform the role (at times) of Major Incident Manager. Skills & Experience * Sound demonstrable experience of working in high-pressure service and operational environments for Government agencies. * Strong customer support and demonstrable incident diagnosis capabilities * Excellent customer communication skills are a MUST, as is the ability to integrate into an established capable operations team * Ambition and the willingness to do a good job first time * Knowledge of Email and Internet Gateways * Experience of RAS / Cisco Anyconnect * Experience in a field engineering role or on-site installations and fault finding * A thorough understanding of "Service Operations" and understanding of ITIL V3 Framework * Good knowledge and appreciation of technologies such as CISCO, Juniper, F5l. This role requires a working knowledge of CISCO with CCNA being preferable. * Good leadership qualities with the ability to communicate (written and verbally) at all levels both internally and externally Desirable Qualifications * ITIL Foundation * Cisco / Juniper Qualification
