Brainwave is a charity that exists to help children with disabilities and Developmental Delay achieve their full potential. Whether that is helping a child to walk or ride a bike, to recognising colours or writing their name. The children that Brainwave works with have a range of conditions including Autism, brain injuries such as Cerebral Palsy and genetic conditions such as Down’s syndrome. Established in 1982, Brainwave now impacts the lives of over 550 children throughout the UK and Ireland and hopes to reach a figure of 700 by 2015.

The North West Air Ambulance Charity

The North West Air Ambulance (NWAA) has been saving lives throughout the North West of England since 1999. Covering 5,500 square miles, seven days a week, 365 days a year from its two base locations at Blackpool Airport and City Airport, Manchester, NWAA relies predominantly on the generosity of its supporters. Patients involved in major trauma can receive medical treatment swiftly before being transferred to a specialist hospital, regardless of their North West location. By receiving treatment at the scene by highly qualified paramedics, using sophisticated equipment and arriving at hospital within the ‘Golden Hour’, the patient’s chances of survival and speed of recovery are dramatically improved.
