Wood Street Mission

Wood Street Mission’s aim is to help alleviate the poverty of children, young people and their families through offering practical help in the form of good quality clothing, bedding, small household items, toys and baby equipment to families living in the Manchester and Salford areas. By working in partnership with all statutory and voluntary agencies and the wider communities the families will receive the best package of support that will not only help them in their time of need but empower them for the future and help them achieve self-reliance and a life free of poverty.

Henshaws Society for Blind People

As one of the oldest charities in the UK, Henshaws provides expert support, advice and training to anyone affected by sight loss and other disabilities to develop the skills and independence they need to live lives that are as full as possible. The charity services support blind and visually impaired children and babies, their families, young and older people and help hundreds of visually impaired, blind and disabled people each year. Working throughout the North of England, with centres and communities in Yorkshire, North West and the North East, Henshaws also operates via a further education college and Arts and Crafts Centre near Harrogate.
