Morson was delighted to attend the 30th annual Women in Aviation Conference in Long Beach, California
Last month, we were proud to announce our official Morson diversity ambassador, CEO and founder of Northern Power Women, Simone Roche MBE
Morson was delighted to attend the 30th annual Women in Aviation Conference in California on Friday 15th March.
The full conference ran from the 14th – 17th March and was held in Long Beach. It featured keynote speakers, educational sessions, exhibit hall, scholarship awards, and good times with individuals from all areas of aviation.
We spoke to Stephanie Vu, one of our Recruitment Consultants who is based in Morson’s California office, specialising in engineering and manufacturing recruitment within the aviation and aerospace industry…
What was the schedule of the day?
“We arrived at 9am and was welcomed into the opening ceremony which introduced the Women in Aviation board members."
“In the morning we were involved in some really insightful seminars and workshops which focused on mentoring and professional development”
“After lunch, at 1pm, the exhibit hall opened. There were numerous exhibitors participating in the conference ranging from engineering companies, airlines, military branches, flight schools, etc. This is where we got the opportunity to network and knowledge share.”
“The conference was utilised as a fantastic resource for women in the aviation field to pursue their career choice in a safe and supportive environment. It was an opportunity for women in the industry to explore different career options in an industry that they are interested in while meeting with key female leaders to help guide and mentor them.”
And the most interesting part?
“The conference was so valuable to me as it exposed me to how many women there are in the aviation field. It was refreshing to see how women supported each other in a predominantly male-oriented industry. Every person that I came across and had the pleasure of meeting had such enthusiasm and passion for what they do. It was also a great opportunity for me to introduce myself to HR personnel and hiring managers that were at the booths for the engineering companies.”
