The Morson Group is featured in the latest edition of True North Books' nostalgic memories series.
The book, titled Manchester - The Golden Years, brings to life Manchester's rich a diverse history from the Victorian era to the present day, with stories covering topics from work, transport, sport and business. The final section of the book looks at successful businesses from the region and charts their story as the city itself has grown.
Morson's entry in the book is a reflection of our firm roots. Our surrounding area and community has always been important to us, and since we were founded in 1969, out head office hasn't moved further than 2 miles away from its original location at the Mason family home in New Lane, Salford. As Morson Group CEO Ged Mason describes in the book:
"Manchester has always been a fantastic place to conduct business. From our first office at our family home, to our corporate headquarters on Centenary Way, Salford, we have enjoyed working within the diverse and exciting business culture Manchester provides and we are proud of our roots."
The book also highlights our commitment to helping our surrounding area, forging long links with charities such as the Seashell Trust and Destination Florida. It also highlights our commitment to helping armed forces veterans and our status as a Ministry of Defence Gold Award holder.
With offices now worldwide, Morson celebrates 50 years in business in 2019 and has planned a range of celebratory events throughout the year. Ged Mason said "I'm very proud of the Morson family and where we are now. As much as we are looking back when we celebrate our birthday, it's important that we look forward and keep driving on, at all times remembering that our greatest asset is our people. As my father used to say, 'there is no finish line, and that is the challenge.'
