Callum Smith Faces George Groves in WBSS Final this September

After months of speculation as to whether the fight would be going ahead, #TeamMorson’s Callum Smith will finally be going up against George Groves on September 28th in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. The World Boxing Super Series final is undoubtedly the biggest fight of Smith’s career to date, with a win securing the Ali Trophy and Groves’ WBA belt.

The fight was in doubt earlier in the year with Groves unable to meet the scheduled date in May due to a shoulder injury sustained in his semi-final with Chris Eubank Jr.

This sparked rumours that Eubank Jr would step in to face Smith in order to avoid an overlap with Season Two of the tournament but the worthy finalists will be facing each other after all. However, itis reported that Eubank will be kept as a back up option, in the case that Groves gets injured.

The final will be taking place at the stunning King Abdullah Stadium in the 10,000 seater indoor arena at the ground which will be spectacle to behold.

All of Morson will be behind Smith and will be documenting his journey to the final this summer.
