Morson Group are delighted to announce that they raised £110,000 for two charities – Alzheimer’s Society and The Christie – throughout 2017.

The total follows a year of extensive fundraising from employees across the country. The total sum raised will be split equally between the two charities and will provide critical funds for those in need.

Events throughout the year included dress down days and cake sales, as well as some larger events.

In early July, the annual Morson Bike Ride took place, with dozens of cyclists riding a challenging 120 miles over two days through Cheshire and the Peak District. At the end of September, 13 employees took part in the first ever #TeamMorson charity skydive from Sibson Airfield in Peterborough. This was followed a few weeks later by another new event for Morson, a charity golf day hosted at The Mere, Cheshire with clients and suppliers taking to the course to help the fundraising.

In December, we completed a trilogy of firsts in our fundraising with our Christmas Community Market, a large market hosted in our underground car park at head office. It attracted hundreds of visitors from the local area and raised thousands for charity.

David Robinson, chairman of the charity committee, said “Its been another incredibly successful year of fun money once again. This year has been great because we’ve seen a number of new events that we’ve not done before and they’ve all been a huge success, raising thousands of pounds each.”

“I would like to give a special thank you to the rest of the charity committee for all their hard work and commitment throughout the year.”

The first of the two cheques for the year was presented to The Christie at a luncheon event on Thursday 25th January.

Morson looks forward to supporting our 2018 charities, Francis House and MIND, throughout the year.
