With over 14,000 skilled and experienced individuals leaving the Armed Forces each year it’s important they’re provided with the correct recruitment opportunities during their transition to civilian employment. Here at Morson we have an excellent track record of working with ex-forces personnel, stemming from personal investment, with several of Morson’s recruiters and account managers coming from an Ex-Forces background.

Building relationships

We work closely with both the Careers Transition Partnership (CTP) and British Forces Resettlement Services (BFRS) to ensure a positive recruitment journey and swift transition for service leavers from military to civilian employment. “Contracting with Morson was a great starting place for my civilian career” states former Morson employee on his experience when he transitioned from the Royal Navy to a career in civilian aviation. They continued: “Morson is a great employer for anyone who is ex-military, it gives a massive opportunity to expand on skills gained in the forces and to progress rapidly into civilian life”. Our work includes providing career advice, CV and interview training, upskilling and creating invaluable professional networks with ex-forces colleagues.

The right role for you

A further key element of our service is our project and skillset insight. Our position across 12 key markets means we are able to advise each individual service leaver that we work with on the types of roles and industries where they can best capitalise on the skills accrued during their time with the armed forces. We listen to each service leaver to ensure we provide the best opportunity for them to excel in their civilian career. Our commitment to securing long-standing careers for ex-forces personnel is independently recognised by the Armed Forces Covenant who presented Morson with a gold award as part of its Employer Recognition Scheme. This is the Ministry of Defence’s highest badge of honour for organisations which have signed the Armed Forces Covenant and demonstrated outstanding support for those who serve and have served.

Endless Opportunities

Our recruitment fairs are a great opportunity for service leavers to network and speak with our recruitment experts as well as finding out about our latest employment opportunities. Daniel Blanchard, 27, who did two stints in the army moved into civilian life after meeting a Morson representative at a recruitment fair. Daniel states I was fortunate enough to meet Morson at a recruitment event being held near my military base. They really helped, from making me look at all my options to getting me into the hangar of a commercial airline to meet the guys and see how they work.”

Are you a forces partner or spouse?

We can help. Morson understands that when your spouse or partner is serving in the armed forces, you may have to put your career on hold – that’s where Morson come in. We can help you find the right job for you. It doesn’t matter whether you’ve switched jobs a few times or more, you’re unable to work regular hours or that you have to move frequently.
