With the go ahead of HS2 and Hinkley Point C, among other projects, the UK infrastructure market is booming. In order to capitalise on the wealth of job opportunities available, you may assume that you need relevant nuclear or rail experience.
Not so.
Each of these projects go through design, implementation and construction phases, opening the door to a wealth of opportunities from tiling and plastering to marketing and administration. While there are certain skills that will be specific to individual sectors, there are others that are easily transferrable from one to another. So, whether you have public sector experience or have worked in a seemingly unrelated industry, one of these infrastructure projects could be the gateway to your next big opportunity.
At Morson, we’re actively speaking to candidates from other sectors that have transferrable skills and helping them transition to roles in rail.
I don’t have rail experience, so what opportunities are available to me now?
