Vital Human Resources’ (part of the Morson Group) Manchester office got into the spirit of giving during their visit to the Sure Start South West Burnley Centre. The Centre, part of the government led initiative aimed at giving every child the best possible start in life, provides integrated education and family support as well as child and family health service.
Vital Human Resources’ Gary Hardaker, Stuart Yates, Lorraine Reece and Wendy Mansley (pictured) delivered toys, gifts and food parcels to the Centre on Monday 21st December. In addition to distributing gift parcels, the team heard of how the local community contribute to the centre at this time of year, including local police officers dressing up as elves to bring some magic into the lives of affected families.
Lorraine Reece, Group HR Manager, commented: “The whole experience was very humbling. The staff were so appreciative of the gifts and the food. These items will make a massive difference to the children and families who are looked after by the Centre, which has lost its funding. We were told some heart breaking stories of families who literally didn’t have anything remotely representative of Christmas in their homes. It was hard to believe that this is the case for so many families who live just 30 minutes away from The Mill.”
