Ged Mason, CEO of Morson Group, has recently completed his Personal Track Safety (PTS) certification for the rail industry, having undertaken the three day training course that all workers in the rail industry are required to complete.

As part of the training, Mr Mason undertook a series of e-learning sessions, followed by theory lessons and assessment, in addition to a practical. The training took place at the Group’s rail training facility, and was delivered by the training specialist division, Morson Vital Training (MVT) in Salford.

Mr Mason said of his experience: ‘After three days of training, I am now qualified to accompany our teams on safety tours and spend time with our workforce and apprentices.

‘Closing the gap between our apprentices and senior management is important to me – and I learnt a lot in my sessions with MVT.

‘All of our rail contractors and employees have to undertake this training, and as CEO I believe that it is important to understand what is involved. I’ll be out on track to see our teams soon!’
