Morson awarded Maritime Labour Convention accreditation

Morson has achieved the globally-recognised Maritime Labour Convention (MLC) accreditation following a comprehensive audit of the company’s safety procedures, process and systems.

The MLC is the marine and shipbuilding industry’s most sought after accreditation, and demonstrates the commitment of an organisation to the safety and protection of its workforce.

The MLC accreditation adds to Morson’s cross-sector accreditations in the engineering industry. Morson has worked with high reliability organisations for decades, many conducting their projects in hardship locations. It has experienced first-hand the importance of providing the highest level of care and protection to its contractors.

Dr. Kevin Gorton, group managing director for Morson, explained: “The MLC accreditation is a big part of our diversification strategy. Our customers expect an excellent service plus the assurance that we are equipped to provide safety and protection for our marine and shipbuilding workforce.

“The safety of our workers is paramount, and we’re very pleased to count the MLC accreditation amongst those we have achieved in other sectors.”

Morson Group promotes the importance of workforce safety via its health and safety initiative, Work Safe, Home Safe.
