Luke Cullen, from Monton, has been presented with an Apprentice of the Year award for his achievements on a Level 2 Diploma in Rail Engineering.

Luke, who works for Manchester-based Vital Rail, a division of Morson Group, was transferred across to complete his qualification with award hosts, Evolve Business Training, after Vital Skills Training went into administration.

Displaying the utmost professionalism and work ethic producing high quality work throughout his Apprenticeship, Luke has taken the lead role of the group on many occasions and is always on hand to help fellow apprentices when they are struggling or need advice.

Recognising commitment, attendance, achievement and progression, 19 trophies were awarded to learners from construction, motor vehicle & engineering, business & administration, IT & digital media, hospitality & catering and healthcare & early years sectors.

Speaking at the event hosted at the Best Western Rockingham Road Hotel in Corby on Wednesday (18 June 2014), Tracy Cosgrave, from Evolve Business Training, said: “This event celebrates the fantastic achievements made by our apprentices.

“We would like to thank the representative companies for their continued commitment to increase training opportunities for young people and adults in the area and would also like to offer congratulations to all apprentices who have achieved their qualification.

“In the past two years we have had the pleasure of seeing many excellent ambassadors for the college and apprentices, taking their next step into a career that some had thought impossible.

“All of the winners should be very proud of what they have accomplished and I wish them, together with all of the apprentices training with Evolve and Tresham, all the best for their future careers.
