Matthew Leavis, Group Training Manager for Vital Human Resources Limited, has been shortlisted for the annual Young Rail Professionals Award at the ceremony of the same name on Friday 28th March in central London.
The event will be held at London’s Grand Connaught Rooms, with Mike Brown, Managing Director of London Underground delivering this year’s keynote speech.
Matthew’s nomination follows a challenging few months ensuring the safeguarding and security of hundreds of young apprentices’ programmes after the skills company, Vital Skills and Training went into administration. Matthew was instrumental in sourcing new training providers, often going ‘above and beyond the call of duty’ to ensure successful outcomes for the apprentices in his care.
Morson Group, the parent company of Vital Human Resources Limited, has worked with Matthew to support his efforts.
Steve Seddon, Client Services Director at Morson, said: “Matthew has put a tremendous amount of effort into ensuring that the training for over 230 apprentices was managed effectively. He has combined his enthusiasm with professionalism and demonstrated control to give all stakeholders confidence in a successful outcome.”
Matthew Leavis, Group Training Manager at Vital Human Resources Ltd, said: “It’s an honour to have been shortlisted for such a prestigious award, especially as there was such a large number nominated. It’s been a difficult few months and I am thrilled that everyone has pulled together to help our apprentices and safeguard the training of the engineers of the future.”
