A 2013 study found that 64% of millennials would take a 60% pay cut to pursue a career path aligned with their passions, where they feel they can give back. Not much has changed in 4 years, as in our recent survey 29% of people said they would definitely take a pay cut for a company whose culture linked into their beliefs, with 57% saying maybe. It is clear that millennials are driven by experience and philanthropic aspirations rather than purely materialistic motivations.

We found that 60% Generation Z’s believe that being able to use social media as part of a working day is essential for cultivating a happy work life balance, alongside a freedom to explore different avenues and roles within an organisation.
Let’s not forget our baby boomers, perceived as the generation more likely to stay with a company for longer. 73% of baby boomers we asked said that a legacy of loyalty and strong values in a company were essential to attract them to an organisation.

Our findings solidified that, whoever you’re trying to attract, the cornerstone of any resourcing strategy should be your employer value proposition (EVP). An EVP is the set of offerings which makes your company unique and stand out in a competitive marketplace.

Once defined you can leverage your EVP, throughout the [C]andidate journey, to showcase the benefits and culture that makes your organisation great. Putting your brand at the heart of the conversation ensures that the values of your company resonate with active job seekers, passive candidates and employees, alike. Fostering employer advocacy helps you to find engaged employees who are the right fit for your business, allowing you to develop a team of motivated personnel who are more likely to deliver superior performance.

Morson are experts in helping you to define, shape and leverage your EVP. By a process of discovery and understanding, we aim to get under the skin of your organisation to create brand led campaigns which attract and retain the best talent for your business.
