Disabled youngster Harrison Linley-Jones is enjoying the freedom of riding his own specially adapted bicycle thanks to the our CEO Ged Mason and Chairman Gerry Mason.
Morson International's CEO and Chairman purchased the specially adapted bike for Harrison after meeting him on his fourth birthday whilst paying a visit to the Seashell Trust in Cheadle, Cheshire earlier this year.
Morson International has adopted the Seashell Trust as one of our two charities of the year. The trust provides education and residential care for students with a range of complex communication difficulties from across the UK.
"I had called in to see staff and students at the seashell trust and was honored to meet new student Harrison who was celebrating his birthday on the day that I was there," explains Ged. "Straight away i knew that my colleagues would want to give this young lad an extra special birthday treat."
Harrison's bespoke bike took over 10 weeks to make. The Seashell Trust hoping that each of its 90 students will eventually be able to enjoy the freedom of riding their own bespoke bicycles which can cost up to £2,000 each depending on individual student's needs.
Harrison and his parents Nicola and Mike enjoyed a surprise visit from Ged and his Father when they made a return visit to the Seashell Trust to present him with his belated birthday gift.
Morson International has been raising funds throughout the year for its two official charities with fundraisers such as a celebrity football match, an 'It's a Knockout' competition and the Manchester to Blackpool bike race. Individual staff members have also visited the charity's campus in Heald Green to meet with staff and students and have thrown themselves into their own fundraising campaigns - including a sponsored slim!
